Who Are Solo(uk)?
We are an independent training school who offer a more personal service than the larger national training schools.
Solo(uk) School of Motoring are a DSA ORDIT Registered Driving Instructor Training School. We have been inspected by the DSA to ensure our methods of training and development are to their high standards. We are inspected by the DSA every 2 years to stay on the ORDIT Register.
Will the training fit around what I do now and my family commitments?
Yes. When arranging your training we try to take into consideration your existing job or family commitments and your course structure takes into account both your ability and your availability.
Are you registered?
Yes. All trainers who work with Solo(uk) will be ORDIT registered. Some training establishments do not hold the ORDIT Registration. Be sure to ask them before you sign up...
What happens if I fail any of the 3 ADI exams?
You can attempt Part I as often as you like (except in Northern Ireland where you have 3 attempts), although most of our students pass first time. You can have three attempts each at Parts II and III (DSA test fees apply). If you are unlucky enough not to pass at the third attempt. Should you fail the 3rd attempt at Part 3 you will need to start the qualifying process from the beginning. We will give you the necessary help and extra training should you need it free.
Am I guaranteed a job at the end of my training?
There can be no guarantees of jobs at the end of your training. This will all depend on the pupil market at the time. We will put you in contact with local driving schools and business support agencies to help you get started straight away.
Do I need to start work as soon as I qualify?
No. Some people who are already working full time slowly build up their pupil base for a while before they decide to work full time as a driving instructor.
